One of the things I will never get weary of is on-site classes. The reason I like them so strongly is because in the short time of three hours, thousands of years of history are revisited and discussed by our professors. Today, in my religion class we visited several churches. Among them, we visited the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the place where the Pope has his seat. Sometimes it's hard to focus on listening to the professor when you are constantly surrounded by magnificent works of art and history. It's always so exciting to hear my professor discuss the biblical background of these sculptures, frescoes and mosaics and be able to recognize and remember them.

The high altar and the 14th-century Gothic ciborium.
Entrance view of the basilica, lined with 6 larger-than-life statues of the 12 apostles, with Peter and Paul being closest to the central nave.
